X Games Aspen 2026 is held at Buttermilk Mountain, one of the four mountains that make up Aspen Snowmass. The venue sits just off Highway 82 between downtown Aspen and Snowmass Village.

Take the Free X Games Shuttle From Downtown Aspen
For visitors staying in downtown Aspen, one of the easiest ways to reach Buttermilk Mountain is the dedicated X Games shuttle from Rubey Park Transit Center. Located in the heart of downtown, Rubey Park is within walking distance of many Aspen hotels, restaurants and shops.
The event shuttle runs directly between downtown Aspen and Buttermilk Mountain, making this a particularly convenient option if you’ve chosen accommodation in central Aspen.

Take the Shuttle From Snowmass Village
Staying in Snowmass Village? You can also leave the car behind. Dedicated X Games shuttles operate from Snowmass Village Mall to Buttermilk Mountain.
This makes Snowmass Village a practical base for visitors who want to combine the X Games with a longer ski trip. Restaurants, shops and accommodation are clustered around the village, and the event shuttle removes the need to find parking near Buttermilk.

Park at Brush Creek Park & Ride
If you’re driving toward Aspen, Brush Creek Park & Ride, also known as the Brush Creek Intercept Lot, is the main free event parking option. The lot sits at the intersection of Highway 82 and Brush Creek Road, a few miles from Buttermilk Mountain.
Visitors can leave their cars here and take a complimentary X Games shuttle to the venue. Keep in mind that the lot can become busy during the event, so arriving early is a sensible option, particularly ahead of popular competitions.

Free X Games shuttles run continuously throughout the weekend from Brush Creek Park & Ride, Rubey Park Transit Center, Snowmass Village Mall and Aspen Highlands.
Friday, January 23: 10:30 a.m. to midnight
Saturday, January 24: 9:30 a.m. to midnight
Sunday, January 25: 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
With services running throughout the day, you don’t need to plan your visit around a single departure time. Still, allowing extra travel time before major competitions is worthwhile, as buses and roads are likely to be busier around peak event periods.
Use RFTA Public Transportation
Another option is the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA), which operates an extensive bus network throughout the Roaring Fork Valley.
Services connect Aspen, Snowmass Village, Brush Creek, Basalt and other communities in the valley, making public transportation particularly useful for visitors staying farther from the main X Games shuttle locations. Check the RFTA schedule for the route serving your accommodation before setting out.
Taking Uber, Lyft or a Taxi
Uber, Lyft and taxis can also be used to get to X Games Aspen. Rather than dropping passengers directly outside the competition areas, rideshare services use a designated area near the entrance to Buttermilk Mountain, around Highway 82 and Owl Creek Road.
For rideshare apps, use 38700 CO-82, Aspen, CO 81611 as the destination. The app should direct you to the appropriate event drop-off and pick-up area.
Bear in mind that demand can increase considerably when competitions and concerts finish, so waits and fares may be higher during busy periods.
Can You Park at Buttermilk Mountain?
No general event parking is available at Buttermilk Mountain during X Games Aspen 2026. Driving directly to the mountain in the hope of finding a space is therefore best avoided.
If you have a car, use Brush Creek Park & Ride or paid parking in downtown Aspen or Snowmass Village before transferring to one of the dedicated event shuttles.
Accessible Drop-Off
Accessible drop-off and pick-up is available at the base of Buttermilk Mountain. Drivers should take Highway 82, turn onto Owl Creek Road and then take the first left into the Buttermilk parking lot, following the signs for the designated accessibility area.
The Simplest Option
For most visitors, the easiest route depends on where you’re staying. Downtown Aspen visitors can use the shuttle from Rubey Park, while those staying in Snowmass Village can catch the dedicated shuttle from the village mall. If you’re driving into the area, Brush Creek Park & Ride provides the most straightforward option for leaving the car behind before continuing to Buttermilk Mountain.
