The Spectacular Stuttgart Arena

Stuttgart Arena is home to VfB Stuttgart and is no stranger to major football matches. Games of both the 1974 and 2006 FIFA World Cup and 1988 UEFA Euro tournament were played here, and the stadium has also hosted two European Cup finals, in 1959 and 1988. Having recently undergone a huge renovation, Stuttgart Stadium is now one of the most modern venues of its kind in the whole of Europe.

When it comes to matchday, be aware that there is only very limited public parking available at the stadium. You can pre-book a space (done on a first-come, first-served basis) directly via the venue; they cost $24 per match.

However, it’s highly recommended that you use public transport to get to the stadium. Stuttgart Arena is about 4.5 kilometres from Stuttgart’s city centre and main train station. If you are driving to the stadium via the autobahns, signs will guide you to the stadium via the B10 and B14.

If you’re planning on using public transport, take the S-Bahn line S1 from the main train station in the direction of Kirchheim and alight at Neckarpark. From here, it’s only an approximate five-minute walk to the stadium. You could also use line U11 from the main station to Neckarpark, which operates on matchdays.

If you’d like a guided tour of the stadium, these are on offer, too. You’ll get to see the players’ tunnel, dressing room, dug-outs, VIP facilities, and press areas.
