The Ultimate 2026 Six Nations Stadium Travel Guide

The Six Nations is one of rugby’s biggest yearly events, but attending a match involves more than simply purchasing a ticket. Each host stadium offers a unique travel experience, with options ranging from the city-centre location of Cardiff’s Principality Stadium to the journey out to Twickenham in southwest London.

If you’re traveling for the 2026 Six Nations, here’s a useful guide to each stadium, including how to get there and actitivies nearby.

Allianz Stadium, Twickenham (London, England)

Location: 198 Whitton Road, Twickenham, TW2 7BA

England play their home matches at Allianz Stadium in Twickenham, southwest London. The stadium is outside central London, so allow enough time for the journey on match day.

  • Getting There: Twickenham railway station is around a 10-minute walk from the stadium and has direct connections with London Waterloo. Whitton and St Margaret’s stations provide additional options.
  • Nearby Areas: Twickenham is the most convenient area for the stadium, while Richmond offers more restaurants, pubs and riverside attractions.
  • While You’re There: Explore Richmond, walk along the Thames or visit the World Rugby Museum at the stadium.

Aviva Stadium (Dublin, Ireland)

Location: Lansdowne Road, Dublin 4

Aviva Stadium is relatively close to central Dublin, making it easy to combine a Six Nations match with a weekend exploring the Irish capital.

Getting There: Lansdowne Road DART station sits beside the stadium. Grand Canal Dock is another useful station, while walking from parts of central Dublin is also possible.

Nearby Areas: Ballsbridge and Sandymount are convenient for the stadium, while central Dublin provides more sightseeing, dining and nightlife.

While You’re There: Visit Trinity College, tour the Guinness Storehouse, explore Dublin Castle or experience the city’s famous pub scene.

Scottish Gas Murrayfield (Edinburgh, Scotland)

Location: Roseburn Street, Edinburgh, EH12 5PJ

Murrayfield is west of Edinburgh city centre but remains well connected, making it relatively easy to combine a rugby weekend with sightseeing.

Getting There: Edinburgh’s tram network stops at Murrayfield Stadium and provides direct connections from the city centre. Buses and walking routes are also available.

Nearby Areas: Haymarket is a convenient base between the stadium and central Edinburgh, while Old Town and New Town are better suited to visitors prioritizing sightseeing.

While You’re There: Visit Edinburgh Castle, walk the Royal Mile, explore the Old Town or climb Arthur’s Seat.

Principality Stadium (Cardiff, Wales)

Location: Westgate Street, Cardiff, CF10 1NS

Principality Stadium has one of the most convenient locations in the Six Nations, sitting directly in Cardiff city centre.

Getting There: Cardiff Central railway station is only a short walk from the stadium. Walking and public transportation are generally the easiest options, particularly when match-day road closures are in place.

Nearby Areas: Cardiff city centre is the obvious base, putting the stadium, restaurants, pubs, shops and attractions within walking distance.

While You’re There: Visit Cardiff Castle, explore Cardiff Market, head to Cardiff Bay or simply enjoy the match-day atmosphere around the city centre.

Stadio Olimpico (Rome, Italy)

Location: Viale dei Gladiatori, 00135 Rome

Stadio Olimpico sits within the Foro Italico sports complex north of Rome’s historic centre, giving rugby fans the opportunity to combine the match with a longer trip exploring the beautiful city.

Getting There: The stadium does not have its own Metro station, so visitors generally use a combination of Metro, tram and bus services. Leave extra time on match day when transportation around Foro Italico becomes busier.

Nearby Areas: Ponte Milvio and Flaminio provide convenient access to the stadium, while central Rome is better for visitors who want to prioritize sightseeing.

While You’re There: Visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Vatican City, or explore the restaurants around Ponte Milvio.

Stade de France (Paris, France)

Location: Saint-Denis, 93200, France

France’s 2026 Six Nations home fixtures take place at Stade de France in Saint-Denis, immediately north of Paris.

Getting There: RER B serves La Plaine–Stade de France, while RER D and Metro connections provide additional ways to reach Saint-Denis. Public transportation is generally the easiest option on match days.

Nearby Areas: Staying in central Paris gives visitors considerably more famous landmarks, restaurant and accommodation options while retaining public transportation connections to the stadium.

While You’re There: Visit the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Montmartre and Arc de Triomphe, or spend an extra day exploring Paris away from the major tourist attractions.

Before You Go

Six Nations match days can bring in massive crowds into each host city, so plan transportation before arriving and leave extra time for busy stations, security and stadium entry.

The six venues also offer very different travel experiences. Cardiff and Dublin make it easy to stay relatively close to the action, while London, Rome and Paris require a little more planning. With the right preparation, each can easily become the centrepiece of a memorable rugby weekend.
